Comcast launched a $9.95 a month internet service called Internet Essentials. The service is for families with a child who gets free school lunches. Those who qualify get:

    * Broadband Internet access, without extra equipment charges,

    * Coupon that gets them a computer for $150,

    * Internet security package, and

    * Training on internet use, parental controls and safety.

For more details, see the Internet Essentials page. To get an application, call 1-855-8-INTERNET (1-855-846-8376). Families can sign up through 2015. The rate stays at $9.95 as long as there is a qualifying student in the home. See the attached flyer to learn more.
