Hello Bo:

I agree with what has been said. I do suggest when buying a laptop that
your daughter handle it before buying it. Some laptops have odd keyboard
configurations. Some laptops have a little space between the six pack and
the arrow keys. I used an IBM Thinkpad that was well laid out. Also get a
comprehenssive extended service plan for a laptop. If something happens to
her laptop, it can get fixed. If your daughter is using a laptop for
notetaking and has a desktop PC, you might not need a high end unit. If
however, the laptop is to be your daughter's primary computer, then you need
all the speed and RAM you can get. When my wife bought a laptop, I bought
her a Pelican rolling case. This case was easy to roll and it kept her
laptop and other stuff safe. The best deals I have found on Pelican cases
are from www.swps.com. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Robert

Subject: [blindkid] technology question - laptops and iPads

Need to upgrade my daughter's laptop and was wondering if there are users
out there that can tell me the advantages of using mac vs PC. My daughter
is 20 and is preparing for college next year I'm not sure what to invest in.

Also, are there any benefits to using iPad mini with Siri over iPod Touch
with Siri?
