As everyone already said UEB is a lot like the braille we use right
now with some changes. Braille readers transition pretty easy. Some
words just feel weird to some very proficient braille readers though
they transition really real. Like for fast print reader many people
read by partly by the shapes of the word the same is true for many
fast braille readers.

Also Nemith is still and will remain so the standard for Math in the
BANA countries.

Here is a link that shows some of the changes. The kids will transition great.

Who made BANA the authority?
Here is the list of the BANA members
http://www.brailleauthority.org/aboutbana/current_directory.html
which includes reps from the major organization of blind people
including the NFB. Who approved the adoption of UEB in its national
convention of 2012.
