                                   The Backpacking SMART Brailler Event!

What's a SMART Brailler and why is he wearing a backpack? These are good questions and the answers are really exciting!

Our SMART brailler (his name is Marty, by the way) wants to come visit you so you can find out what all he can do! Marty will be traveling around the country visiting 6 families and when he's done readers will have the chance to vote on who gets to keep him. That's right! Someone will be getting a new SMART Brailler for their very own!

                                More About the SMART Brailler

So what's so different about this brailler? It has a small computer screen attached to the front of the brailler allowing you to run through menu options, save files, create different users and best of all hear and see what's being typed in real time. For parents who can't read braille (or are learning along with their kids), this will completely change the way we approach our children's school work and opens up a world of opportunity to share and experience braille in a whole new way. Looking for a fun and informative conference?
The Early Connections Conference will be held at the Perkins School for the Blind Watertown campus in Massachusetts on April 27th. This annual conference offers a unique opportunity for parents of children with visual impairments (birth-7) and professionals to come together to both learn new information and to network. Lunch and childcare are provided.
