[blindkid] Braille instruction for 12 year old

I teach my students how to rapidly use the computer to turn in
assignments to the teacher. There is also a Michigan severity rating
scale that will help determine the skills your daughter needs to work
on. How are her independent living skills? Braille is critical and it
sounds like she has that well in hand. I would focus on other areas
now.

I have been blind since birth and, when I was ready to enter college
an employee at a rehabilitation center told all of us we lived in a
sighted world and would compete with sighted people so we needed to
learn all of the skills to be competitive.
No truer words were ever spoken. The TVI should help your daughter
learn those skills because they will benefit her the rest of her life.
