As a parent who has two kids in college, I know very well how our kids can be a source of worry.  From what you 
have said, though, he sounds as though he'll be able to figure things out.  I believe that there is contact 
information on the NFB.ORG web site for all of the state presidents, and the president in California might be of 
help by knwoing if there are other members in that area.  Also, getting him to subscribe to one of our lists such 
as Blindtlk would give him a place to ask questions or even to find someone in his area.
