Juli and other parents

The big problem with parents paying for services the school should be
providing is you give up FAPE and relinquish the school from responsibility
of educating your child--that adds in so many other really bad
options---parents who did not know this will tell you. Did you call
director or walk directly into the sped directors office? It is difficult
to ignore a parent when you are right there.

The schools have to be changed--the warning you can give to other parents
is--this needs to start at 3 or as soon as you realize the TVI you have
does not have the necessary skills --and tech is the big one as many do
know braille now due to braille bills--but the tech is not taught at the
university level so they do not have it. The computer WITH
instruction--access is not access without instruction and is what is going
to give your child the ability to access any part of their education
college and get that job.

I have many parents who have taken the route to get services for their kids
and if you would like, will share their information with their permission.
