Subject: seeking US family for 16 yr old blind male exchange student

Greetings all!
I am enjoying a couple of days with Pris, and while here, an urgent need came to my attention. American Field Services is a 1-yr. high school exchange organization, embracing opportunities for both disabled and non disabled students from around the world coming to the US. They can use host families anywhere in the US. They have a 16 yr old Turkish male highschooler, fluent in braille, enjoys running and animals, who has gone to public school for all his life in Turkey. He knows fairly good English. However, he will not be able to come here unless they find an appropriate host family anywhere in the US within the next 1 to 2 weeks. He has good social skills, but no white cane or service dog training. Responsibilities are like those for any other teen: food, shelter, transportation, as he completes one year in a high school. If you or someone you know might have interest, please contact Amy at 646-381-3291 (work) or email: ahayes at afsusa.org<mailto:ahayes at afsusa.org>.
Please share with your networks.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth Sammons
