*CASTING NOTICE for Blind Female 16-28 years old*

*Project Title:** Solstice – UCLA MFA Short Film, 12min*

*Shooting Dates:* 2/16-2/20/2022

*Location:* Los Angeles, CA

*Genre:* drama/fantasy

*Logline:* The story is set in a fictional town in medieval times. On a
strange winter night when the sun fails to set, the whole town is burned by
fire as a punishment for being filled with pretentious and arrogant
residents. There are only two escaped from the fire, Lyla, a blind girl who
sells eggs on the local street, and an isolated young traveler from another
village.

*Character Name*: Lyla

*Role Description: *Lyla is a blind young girl (visual age.16-28) living in
a small town in medieval times, depending her life on selling eggs on the
street. She seems to be vulnerable and is treated badly by some arrogant
local people. But deep inside of her there are some striking strength and
energy lying underneath.
