[blindlaw] Purchasing A KNFB Reader Mobile?

Well, I invite folks to visit the Humanware website, and they do not need a
contract to get the Mobile Speak for $195. The $295 is how much I paid when
I purchased it years ago. Mobile Speak has multiple distributors, and it
seems like they all set the price however they want to. I don't know much
about the KNFBReader to comment.
The humanware website is:
www.humanware.com
The info is right on the home page.
This price saves a blind person $100.

KNFB Reading is a separate company. The NFB itself is a "national
dealer" for the KNFB Reader Mobile. The normal list price for Talks,
or Mobile Speak is $295. There are some phone companies that sell
stripped down versions for less, but you have to get your phone, and
a multi-year contract from them at the same time to get the lesser price.
There is a second phone that the KNFB Reader Mobile software works
with now -- it is the Nokia 6220 Classic.
