[blindlaw] Jury duty

I live in the Bay area of California, and have been summoned for jury
duty. I didn't find out about this until today, and I have to report
tomorrow. I have heard that I will not be allowed to sit on a jury
because of my blindness, and am seeking further information about what
I can expect. The thing is, I really need even the small amount of
money I might earn by sitting on a jury, and am willing to serve. Can
someone familiar with the process in Alameda County please let me know
what to expect? My current plan is to show up at the court house
tomorrow morning with the summons in hand, but I cannot at this time
afford a cab or bus, so will have to walk. Is there an alternate plan
I should follow? I'm very ignorant about this sort of thing, and
apologize.
Thanks for any information.
