I had my secretary do that when I got out of school. Its easy for them.
You can type your time in a word document or dictate it, and tey type it in.

As a non-lawyer, why can't your assistant plug in the hours you work on a
client's case Steve?

Kendrick -

I work at a firm that uses a billable hour system. There are many
techniques that can be used. As a last resort, if you just can't become as
efficient as other associates, then your compensation can be adjusted to
address the issue. Please call me and we can discuss this issue in more
detail.

Subject: [blindlaw] Private firms/Billable Hours

Hello All,

As a 3L student at the University of Mississippi Law School and working at a
defense firm last summer. Could anyone comment on if they work at a firm
that uses the billable hour format and what techniques and equipment they
use in their office to make things more efficient completing their task?

I was told I do excellent work but because of my "Capability" and alterative
techniques I am not appealing to a firm that uses the billable hour system.
Therefore, I should apply for a government position or maybe a firm that is
plaintiff oriented.
