On behalf of Empire Justice Center, we are so pleased to announce that thanks a generous contribution from the Farash Foundation, Empire Justice Center is launching a Summer Diversity Clerkship Program <http://support.empirejustice.org/site/R?i=U7Y6vibMxcoMk8aIehS5iw> out of our Rochester Office.

As an organization, we are committed to diversity and inclusion in the way we practice law and connect with the communities we serve. The creation of such a program has long been a dream of ours and we could not be happier to have been given the opportunity to draw bright minds from across the state, and hopefully the nation, into Rochester’s justice community and hopefully toward a career in civil legal services.

Running in tandem with the Monroe County Bar Association Clerkship Program <http://support.empirejustice.org/site/R?i=2U3Q9dL2t-28EAFGQleAKg> , but focused on second year rather than first year law students, Empire Justice Center’s Summer Diversity Clerkship Program seeks well-rounded and passionate applicants who have not only achieved academic excellence but are also active in professional and community activities. Candidates should be a member of a historically under-represented population - (e.g. racial minority group or low-income households) within the legal profession and have an interest in being involved in the Rochester community. Excellent writing and interview/interpersonal skills will be essential.

Interested students will be required to submit a formal application<http://support.empirejustice.org/site/R?i=YseLnK6qlZ2A1lZM4AwKCw> package electronically. The package includes an application, resume, undergraduate and law school transcripts, personal statement and writing sample. The deadline for all applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014.
