Hi Elizabeth,,

The Bay Area is a wonderful place for many reasons, including public
transportation. There are a number of blind professionals and some of us
try to keep in touch and get together on a regular basis. You are more than
welcome to join us if you move here. Keep in touch and I'll connect you
with folks out here.

Regards,

Subject: [blindlaw] Re Introduction from Sacramento

Hi Tim,

I'm interested in your response to Patrick, because I've been considering
taking the California bar exam now that I've passed the UBE.

What holds me back is a reservation about starting from scratch in a totally
new professional community.

Do most of the blind lawyers and professionals you speak of live and work in
the Bay Area?

I lived in Berkeley for 2 1/2 years in the '90's, and near Loma Linda for
another year after that. I'm thinking about San Diego now, but would be
open, depending on the cost of living, availability of public
transportation, and the possible fellowship of other blind professionals.

What could you tell me?

I suppose that my ultimate goal might be to be licensed in Washington,
Oregon, and California so I could practice anywhere on this coast.

Thanks.

Elizabeth Rene
