JOB SUMMARY:

Provides representation and advice to Postal Service officials involving the interpretation of statutes, regulations, contracts, and precedents; or the presentation of cases before administrative bodies in a general area of the law.

DUTIES:
The successful candidates will carry a heavy employment litigation caseload before, in particular, the federal district courts, the EEOC and the MSPB, as well as provide advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters, including but not limited to those arising under Title VII, the ADEA, the Rehabilitation Act, FMLA, the OSHA, the NLRA, and disciplinary matters subject to the jurisdiction of the MSPB. Periodic overnight business travel is required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The successful candidates will carry a heavy employment litigation caseload before, in particular, the federal district courts, the EEOC and the MSPB, as well as provide advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters, including but not limited to those arising under Title VII, the ADEA, the Rehabilitation Act, FMLA, the OSHA, the NLRA, and disciplinary matters subject to the jurisdiction of the MSPB. Periodic overnight business travel is required.
The applicant should have at least three years of litigation experience primarily practicing employment law in federal courts or before the EEOC or MSPB. Current litigation experience is required including discovery, drafting and filing motions, mediation, and participation in trials and hearings. Experience in handling federal district court employment cases, state court employment matters and EEOC and MSPB litigation should be specifically documented in the applicant's resume.
Applicants must possess strong academic credentials from an ABA accredited law school, demonstrate excellent writing and advocacy skills, work effectively in a team environment, and be an active member in good standing of a state bar.
