[blindlaw] Re MS operating systems in federal agencies

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. The follow-up question I have then is this:

I've been using Windows XP for years, and also an iPhone and iPad with VoiceOver, as well as a MacBook Pro. I bought the Mac because I'd heard that Windows 7 was fazing out and that Windows 8 was lousy. I've looked all over Seattle for Windows 7 instruction--DSB, Seattle Public Library's Access unit, Community Services for the Blind, the Lighthouse, and a local community college. They all tell me that no classes or instruction are offered. I want to get a job readiness certificate to qualify for Section A eligibility for federal employment. I'm actively licensed and have years of legal experience.

Am I "ready" for federal employment without Windows 7 (granted I need it), and can I get a job readiness certificate without becoming a rehabilitation client?

Thanks.

Elizabeth Rene
