I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue filling out the candidate form to request accommodations from LSAC? Adobe kept telling me I had to upgrade to a paid monthly subscription before I could continue filling out the form. I had downloaded Adobe reader which is what I was using to fill out the form. Not only did I have issues filling out the form but I also have issues uploading a photo for my ticket. It kept coming back to the upload image page but it didn't tell me what I had done wrong. As a result, my request for accommodation came through to them after the deadline. I had decided that I needed to take the LSAT again just recently. I began working on it as soon as I could. Had I not had the barriers in filling out the form and uploading my photos it would've been submitted on time. I do understand that you should start things early enough to accommodate for technical issues, however, I made the most of the time I had once the decision to retake the test was made. Has anyone else experienced these issues with the new method of submitting a request for accommodations to LSAC? If you have could you please share your experience with me off-line? It was quite frustrating especially since I really needed to take the June LSAT Aimee Sent from my iPhone From kaerickson at stu.clcillinois.edu Thu May 4 16:12:45 2017 From: kaerickson at stu.clcillinois.edu (krista erickson) Date: Thu, 4 May 2017 11:12:45 -0500 Subject: [blindlaw] Question about Accessing Online WestLaw Next Research Certification Training Message-ID: Hello, If any of you have recently gone through the free, online research certification training offered for Westlaw Next using screen reading software, could you please contact me off-list? Alexa can even keep track of an attorney's billable hours. According to a post on Tuesday by Robert Ambrogi, Thomson Reuters has unveiled a new tool for lawyers to do just that-all with just a simple vocal command to Alexa. Developed by Thomson Reuters Elite, Workspace Assistant can calculate time spent on specific matters while allowing users to input their own hours. Workspace Assistant, which is compatible with any Alexa-enabled device, including Amazon Echo, also can answer questions relating to billable hours. As Ambrogi noted, Workspace Assistant only works for users who subscribe to Workspace, Thomson Reuters Elite's business management tool. A tool like this is sure to engender security and confidentiality concerns. As Ambrogi pointed out, prosecutors have already started issuing subpoenas for Alexa or Echo recordings. Eric Ruud, managing director of Thomson Reuters Legal Enterprise Solutions, said in a press release that Workspace Assistant is "hosted by Elite, so it's just a low touch into the Amazon environment." He added that: "Alexa listens and interacts with time entry and reporting, but always within the firm's security walls." Workspace Assistant can be downloaded from the Amazon Alexa store. Updated at 10:09 p.m. to correctly name the Workspace Assistant product. Justice In Aging - Alert] We are adding a litigation attorney to our team to help us fight back against attacks on the rights of older adults. Could that be you or someone you know? In the last decade, Justice in Aging’s litigation team has returned or preserved more than two billion dollars in safety net benefits for seniors and people with disabilities living in poverty. This position presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to this impactful work in a time when the challenges to the safety net seniors rely on could not be greater. This position will be located in our Washington, DC office, and will report to our new litigation director, Regan Bailey, while working closely with other staff members. Read the full job description and share widely. We are also currently accepting applications for Post-Graduate Law School Fellows in any of our three offices (Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, CA or Oakland, CA). ________________________________ Connect with Us [Image removed by sender.
