[blindlaw] Interviewing Post-Law School

Kelby,

I am in the exact same position. Though, so far, the issue of accommodations in my abilities has only come up in an interview with a public defenders office. Given the fact that this would be a litigation heavy position and one in a district court where there is a lot of hand written documents, I think the concern is a fair one. I relied a lot on information from this email list to help me address those concerns. I also made sure to be clear that I am being proactive in that I am always looking for ways to accomplish the same work as in the other attorney, but in a different way. I mentioned my subscription to this email list as a demonstration of those efforts.

That said, I was not offered the job. I am aware that the pool of applicants was a very competitive one, but I still wonder if I could’ve done something better to address their concerns.

Does anybody have tips as far as interviewing as a blind attorney, specifically? Best ways to diffuse people's concerns and make a good impression? And how many unsuccessful interviews should one have before it's reasonable to be really concerned?
