This is correct. I don’t have any experience with the desktop version, but I’ve used the mobile version for calls and texts, and it’s quite accessible. The company also seems to be at least somewhat committed to maintaining accessibility. In the notes for a recent update to the mobile app, they mentioned that they had made improvements for Voiceover users (sorry, I don’t remember exactly how the app was improved).

I have not used it yet, but my understanding is that it is an application to facilitate encrypted communication, both calls and text messaging.
