I am interested to know if there is a way to do this as well. Please let us know what you learn.

Subject: [blindLaw] Recognizing highlighted text in PDF's

Good afternoon, everyone:

I am writing to see if anyone has experience using JAWS to recognize highlighted text in a PDF document. I am able to use certain sound and speech schemes to recognize highlighted text in Word documents and elsewhere, but have not found a way to do so when reading PDF’s in Adobe. Regardless of whether the text in the PDF was highlighted in Adobe or the text was highlighted in a word document that was later converted to a PDF document, JAWS will not recognize highlighted text in PDF’s. The person I contacted at JAWS tech support was unable to figure it out and was not sure if JAWS should be able to recognize highlighted text in Adobe PDF’s.

If anyone here has experience with reading documents with highlighted text, please let me know.

Respectfully,
Cody
