WOC World: A Conversation With Young Blind Women Of Color
September 26, 3 pm EST
Calling all young Blind Women of Color for a chill convening of Blind Women
of Color ages 16-35! This virtual discussion is designed for young women to
share lived experiences, ask questions (personal or professional) & receive
genuine guidance/peer support. Please note that this event is an open
discussion facilitated by 3 Blind Women Of Color, Justice Shorter, Melissa
Lomax and Conchita Hernandez Legorreta. Each of us are committed to now
creating the very same communal spaces we once yearned for throughout our
youth while navigating school, careers and active social lives. Older Blind
Women of Color are also invited to come listen with love and encircle young
women with care.
We also welcome participants (blind women of color) who are poets, musicians
or singers to contact Justice Shorter if you would like to perform during
this session as we strive to creatively cultivate a lasting sense of
camaraderie and community: JusticeShorter at gmail.com
