Good morning. My name is Melissa Allman and I very rarely post to this list. I worked for an employer for a few years that used this case management system. I want to be clear that I have not used it in three years
so things might have improved. I found Clio inaccessible and therefore very difficult to use on a Windows operating system. There were lots of unlabeled buttons and circumstathere were lots of unlabeled buttons and circumstances where jaws could only read the underlying code instead of text or buttons and links. at that time I believe I was using Internet explorer but I think I also tried it with chrome. I consulted with some individuals with expertise in accessibility at the time and they confirmed that jaws scripts would have to be created to make it work well. I was in close communication with the folks at Clio during that time. And at first believe them to be committed to making their case management system accessible. then they launched a new version that was just horrible because accessibility had not been contemplated in the design. When I raise that issue with them after that point, I pretty much began to get lipservice and gave up. I did find their app to be much more accessible and used it on an iOS device as a workaround until I moved on from that place of employment. I found the experience frustrating and disheartening and I’m encouraged to hear that they now have an accessibility project manager. I don’t know if this information is at all helpful but I wish you the best of luck in finding a case management system that works for you. I am in a position where I am not practicing law so no longer have to worry about case management systems so I cannot recommend one at this time.
