These fellowships provide opportunities for recent law school graduates to start their careers working with one of the nation’s leading civil rights organizations, gaining invaluable experience while advancing our racial justice mission in one or more critical civil rights areas.

More information about our fellowships program can be found on our website<https://eml-pusa01.app.blackbaud.net/intv2/j/A6824EA1-BE25-42F8-8C98-3D4BC4F71293/r/A6824EA1-BE25-42F8-8C98-3D4BC4F71293_c65fa9b1-0f5a-4530-b9d7-70703ff047d5/l/92902918-8270-48E0-9E31-8955E21E22E6/c>. The Lawyers’ Committee annually sponsors the George N. Lindsay Civil Rights Fellowship for a recent law school graduate who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to racial justice and to building a career in civil rights law.

Lindsay Fellows work closely with leading civil rights experts in their project focus area, providing support for and expanding the breadth of our work on the cutting edge of civil rights practice. Past Lindsay Fellows have continued to work with the Lawyers’ Committee as permanent counsel, or gone on to obtain positions at other top civil rights organizations.

The Lawyers’ Committee also sponsors fellows through the Skadden, Equal Justice Works, Justice Catalyst, and other fellowship and grant programs. These fellows typically serve for one or two years, developing and implementing their own project proposal with the support of our staff attorneys to advance our mission.
