Hi John,
Great questions. Personally I used Khan Academy's free online course to build up my foundation and then paid for a Kaplan course to get me the rest of the way there. Kaplan's website wasn't the best, so I requested all of their materials in word format and to be emailed to me, especially the practice exam bank along with explanation files.
As for scores, I think that has very little to do with blindness itself and rather more to do with one's blindness skills/ own academic aptitude. I know blind people who have scored up and down the scale. I think if you focus on brushing up your tech/ braille skills, depending on which format you'll take the exam and if you can ensure accessible study materials, then your blindness shouldn't play a factor in your score. However, that's easier said than done, because companies like Kaplan and the exam administration itself have historically had numerous accessibility barriers that pop up soon after we seem to knock them down. So, your own advocacy will also be an important component and the National Federation of the Blind can of course be a huge support in that.
Happy to chat more over the phone if you'd find that helpful.
Best,
Syed
