It may have been said before, but I have heard that EdSharp
(http://www.empowermentzone.com/edsetup.exe) can handle LaTeX well, and Jaws
will speak it understandably using the scripts that come bundled with the
EdSharp installer. Just throwing it out there. Even if it is no good for
LaTeX, it is still a great editor, designed for blind users from the ground
up.
