Actually, Sonification is the use of non-speech audio to convey 
information.

In the case of Graphs, researchers currently try to manipulate some 
parameters of sound like loudness, pitch, frequency, and tempo with a 
bid to represent the differences between two or more data.

It is quite an evolving field that is witnessing lots of research at the 
moment.
