Hi Peter,
The key to success with any professor is open communication. Call or
visit your professor, and meet with him as regularly as you can. This
will solidify concepts for you and also provide you with an ally if
things get tough. Have someone study with you, and have them give you
page references for certain concepts, so you can compare the Nemeth
with what they're telling you the math symbols are. Find a study
group. Working with others not only helps you academically but also
emotionally and socially, as a group becomes a support network. You'll
find that you can also explain concepts to others, which will boost
your confidence, increase theirs, and ensure that yu understand the
material.

Also, focus on one or two things at a time. No human being can fix all
issues at once. so focus on the most important issue for you right
now, and the rest can be dealt with once you sort out the first
problems. Taking on too much will overwhelm you to the point that you
won't be able to get any one task done and will become more
discouraged than you were before.

Feel free to reach out off list if you want, and I hope this list will
continue to meet your needs.

Kind regards,
Sarah
