Dear John,
To your knowledge, has anyone ever made a Braille edition of the book,
"Flatland" (1884) by Edwin Abbott?
http://www.ibiblio.org/eldritch/eaa/FL.HTM The books demonstrates very
clearly the extension from two dimensions to three and then from three
dimensions to four. Might this be an aid to blind people understanding
solid geometry in three-space?
The original illustrations for the book are quite simple pen-and-ink
drawings which might be readable as raised lines, perhaps with some
enlargement. It seems to me that someone either in your ViewPlus Tiger
User's Group or the Accessible Image
Group might be well equipped to take on such a project. The book is
really quite small -- The HTML adaptation is 22 pages.
You also have to filter the analogies in the book through the prism of
Victorian social attitudes. :)
Thanks,
