[Blindmath] MyMathLab

Pearson Group is the publisher for MyMathLab, and a number of other similar labs in different subjects.

The first isssue has to do with how to make math accessible, and there are others on this list who have commented on this in the past and are far better qualified to do so.

The basic problem with the lab's constructions is that they are coded in Flash, and though there have been some advances in making Flash-based web apps more accessible, it's still a big problem. And frankly, the efforts by Pearson and others are resulting in only incremental gains. For most students, they'll be graduated before their mymathlab is accessible to them.

Currently the manufacturer's are creating a product that will make SOME problems accessible. Not sure why they can not make ALL problems accessible. This is according to the information that was provided to my institution by the manufacturer.

Hello:
If at all possible, I highly recommend avoiding this. At a cursory
glance for accessibility, I had a lot of issues with edit boxes and
submitting information using both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
