Actually I used it without jaws just as a test.  It works good enough
without the scripts but it works better with them.    I used it with Window
-eyes 7, Jaws 12, and system access without the scripts Jaws 10 with, and I
tried it on the Mac but that was a lost cause because the math player or
something did not seem to work right.

The problem with this approach is that it works with Jaws, and
probably Jaws 12 only.
It is like saying that only people with Word Perfect can access your
online resources.
Whereas that is an acceptable claim in some circles (especially back
in the early 90s), today people use Windows, Macs, Linudx, iPhone and
Androids.
If you were to stick to a common standard like MathML, you would leave
the door open to all of those users to use your technology and
instructional material, barring barriers set by their own assistive
technology.
By customizing your content for Jaws, you are prefering one solution,
a very expensive solution at that (retail price around $1000 for a
professional version), pretty much over all other screen readers, free
or paid, in the market.
In the long run that is probably not the best stragety to follow.
