Lem,
They sent a book with many sample chapters. They told me that I was free to share it as they would like input so if you'd like I will try to send you a copy.

Well Pearsons has told me that their long term goals does include somehow adding Nemeth as an output as well as the support that you saw. Did they send you chapter ?

Hi Dan and all,
Unfortunately, everyone will not be able to upgrade to Jaws 12 so Pearson needs to be backward compatible but I do see that they have scripts for version 10. I don't think that testing with version 12 would be a real life experience for those using earlier versions of Jaws. Pearson has sent me a sample textbook with various types of mathematics that is in a much more accessible format as well as a my math lab testing area. However, I am reluctant to expect a student to get the information from the textbook that they can get. Braille document if they are Nemith braille readers.
I just found this message below, it was posted in May 2011 on the DSSHE listserv. It is in regard to My math test but I suspect that my math lab and math textbooks are going to be following the same pattern.

Hello Ida,
I saw your question on the listserv and wanted to take the opportunity to provide information on MyMathTest (MMT) and accessbility.
Pearson has a comprehensive plan to ensure that our mathematics products are as accessible as possible to all students. Our engineering team, in conjunction with accessibility experts from inside and outside Pearson, is working to bring the benefits of MMT to all students. We're following a phased approach to meet our goal.
Phase I. In this initial phase, a library of custom scripts was developed and published in early 2010 to allow JAWS 10 to both read and support interaction with the Flash-based MMT item player serving multiple-choice items. This functionality is currently available on the site at http://mymathlab.com/accessibility
<http://sbs.intellipro.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://usot.webmail.pe
arson.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://usot.webmail.pearson.com/Exchweb
/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://mymathlab.com/accessibility> .
Phase II. Several efforts are presently underway to extend the Phase I work.
In March 2011, we completed a set of instructor features to ease identification and selection of accessible items from within the MMT data base. In June 2011, we'll publish extensions to the customs scripts to enable the use of JAWS 12 with MMT. In addition, our Flash-based item player will be enhanced to enable free-response items (in addition to the
multiple-choice) to be read using JAWS 12, and interacted with via keyboard controls and math notation input.
If you'd like to learn more about our efforts, we'd be pleased to arrange a demo of MMT working with JAWS. Alternatively, we can help you get set up so you can work with MMT and JAWS on your own.
We thank you for your time, and look forward to being of service to you and your students.
Sincerely,
Rick Clinton

Good resource, pointing out the what you can do and the limitations of what will be possible.
Unfortunately, it looks to be at least a year since it was updated - still talking about JAWS 11.
