Good to hear I know from talking to some of the Pearson group that they are
working hard to get their texts to all be accessible so this is great news.

I am posting this because I know that many of us on the list have been
waiting,
wishing, and hoping for a math text that was easily and fully accessible. I
have just tested the text College Algebra in Context with Applications for
the
Managerial, Life, and Social Sciences, 4th Edition written by Ronald J.
Harshbarger. The book is fully accessible including alternative text
descriptions for all graphics! I have to confess that I am not a JAWS
expert so
I had my best success with my Ipad and Voice Over. As an example of how
good it
reads is that when reading a table, Voice over will go back and read the
column
heading before reading the information. Even if a college is not using
this
text it is nice to know that a student could purchase it to learn from. It
has
been my experience that our students will continually search the web for
alternatives to understand information when their course material is lacking
in
accessibility. The book is published by Pearson Publishing. This is not a
commercial for Pearson Publishing, it is a celebration of something long
awaited.
