By listening to "Ted's Talk List" I recently learned of a web site called "Wolfram Alpha".
www.wolframalpha.com
It is developed by Wolfram, a well known scientist who also developed Mathmatica. This site is designed to provide an answer instead of providing a lot of links hoping you will find your answer. It is not intended to take the place of Google, Yahoo, or any of the common known search engines but to work in conjunction with them.
Being connected with Mathmatica Wolfram Alpha leans heavily on Math and science. It will work out formulas as well as show the steps to get to the results. Not being a mathematician I really can't test it as well as I would like, so I am wondering if someone could try it out and let us know how accessible it is?
