[Blindmath] constructions in Geometry

When I was in secondary school, we used the same technique that you describe, i.e., a board with a rubber mat to which plastic sheets were clipped. The board had set squares and was graduated with centimeter divisions, allowing for quite precise measurements.

Also available were a braille ruler, a compass and a protractor.

20 years later, there do not appear to be any superior alternatives, so far as I know.
