[Blindmath] how did your TVIs assist you?

I find that many times it is not the staff that work with the student but the parents who are responsible for their own child's lack of readiness. Professionals may push to try have the child take more responsibility for their own work while parents see this as the schools responsibility. Since this may cause more trouble for institutions at the high school level falling under IDEA instead of just 504, the school will then grant the parent what they want even if it isn't better for the student in the long run.
