Hello:
I am a graduate student at Mississippi State University in the department of
animal dairy science. I also appear to be the department's first reader of
Braille and user of adaptive technology. While the university has the
National Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision, neither
the disability support services office nor NRTC has been able to recommend
local technology services or Consultants, who I desperately need to help me
with trouble shooting issues with MathML documents.
I'm looking for someone I could interact with virtually regularly once every
other week for 30 to 60 minutes, but who can also make more time when I'm
dealing with time-sensitive problems.
The adaptive technologies I use include JAWS (V.'s 14, 16 and 17),
BrailleNote BT (Key Soft V. 9.5.0), Duxbury (V.'s 10.7 and the latest),
Kurzweil 1000 and OpenBook (V. 9.0), and I have an iPhone 5 running IOS 9.2.
The non-adaptive applications I interact with most regularly include
Internet Explorer; Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook; Adobe
Reader; and Base SAS (V. 9.4). I am partially sighted in my left eye and can
read much magnified print, but prefer Grade II English Literary and Nemeth
Braille and audio/electronic formats with high color and tactile diagrams as
needed.
My vocational rehabilitation councilor requires someone who could make
recommendations should additional technologies be needed. If interested,
please respond to me at zmason.northwindsfarm at gmail.com with current
curriculum vitae.
Sincerely,
Zachary Mason
