Hello Winona,
Both JAWS and NVDA have math reading capabilities if the math is on the web and uses the mathematical mark-up language MathML.
You can also read math in Microsoft word, if the equations were entered using Design Sciences MathType program, and you have MathType which costs around $100.
What screen reader do you use, and do you have a Braille display? Do you use magnification software?
You will have to talk to the course providers about the format of their material.
It is very practical for a blind person to major in math, although there are many complications about getting accessible text material.

Subject: [Blindmath] Online math class
Hi all,
I am thinking about taking a math class online. Do you know is JAWS or VoiceOver can read math equations ? Is taking a math class even a realistic idea for a blind student?
