[Blindmath] Online math class

There are many of us on this list that have taken all types of Math classes as blind students.  Many of us have e highly technical degrees where we utilize Mathematics in all aspects of our jobs.

If the material is written in MathML then NVDA and Math Player 4 will read the mathematics correctly.  Both are available for free, which is a plus.  It really depends on how the class and material were created.  I would highly recommend contacting your Disability Support Services department at the school and get them involved to assist you in determining if there are any barriers, and if so, how they  can be overcome.  As for, taking a math class being realistic for a blind student...ABSOLUTELY!!  People say math is too visual and I say that there are things that can be done to overcome any obstacles.  I have worked with quite a few blind students in math and they have been very successful.  I have seen blind students be successful in many math a science classes.  Was it easy, no.  Was it possible, yes!!
