Locate the file ClearSpeak-unicode.tdl or Unicode.tdl, which is likely in this folder or somewhere similar, depending on your system:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Design Science\MathPlayer\Rules\en\

That file can be edited with a text editor. Insert a line of the following form:

char ? (unicode == 0x0021) => string{text="factorial";};

where you substitute the Unicode number for the dagger in place of 0x0021, and the desired speech for "factorial"

As per Neil's post today on the topic of dimf and screen readers, you may want/need to make similar edits in some other.tdl files.

Subject: [Blindmath] dagger and other special symbols

Also, on a different note, I am having trouble with the dagger symbol. Using NVDA to read a math type document in word. It won't speak the dagger character. Does anyone have experience with that?
Also, is there a way I can set a dictionary for special symbols in Math type or math player?
