It would be useful to configure the editor to wrap the text at 40 columns (or whatever the length of your braille display is). You could also write macros to facilitate alignment of text, which would be highly desirable in writing mathematical content.

The Emacs editor would be an ideal environment for this, as might Eclipse, although I haven't had much experience with the latter and thus can't comment on its capabilities in detail.
