[BlindMath] Fw: Any Accountancy and Finance Career Options for a Blind Person?

Hello,

I am the chief financial officer of a startup in the bay area. The biggest
problem is that there are only 2 accounting programs that are accessible to
small businesses (I can’t say anything about SAP or other large expensive
systems). These two are Cash Manager and Quickbooks. I did bookkeeping as
part of my job for about a year and I found that Quickbooks Online was much
more accessible for moving through many transactions than the Quickbooks
Software was.

Now as a CFO, I spend most of my time in Google Sheets and running reports
off of Quickbooks and downloading them to Excel.

I find that it takes me a while to read sheets built by other people,
because for some reason, they like to space content far away from other
content. I tend to put everything together in a database style. But once
you understand how someone builds their spreadsheets, then it is pretty
fast to work with them. I tend to ask people to use Google Sheets, because
I find it much more accessible than Excel. I also build my own custom
formulas all the time. Becoming an expert in formulas is crucial for
aggravating information and finding numbers from different places. I use
ArrayFormulas, query, importrange, DGET, DSUM, and sum mostly.

NVDA reads both Excel and GSheets very well, so those are where I tend to
spend my time.

The only time when being in finance is not accessible is when you need to
use a program that is not accessible. I have found 0 interest in companies
like Xero or Zoho to make their products accessible.

Thanks,
