Has anyone used RoboBraille<http://robobraille.org/introduction-robobraille> services? I just found this through a search and wonder about others' experiences.

Yes, that is accurate. The PDF file can be sent to a Braille vendor for a quote. From my experience with Bookshare, it can take weeks to months to process a new book to be available.

Another option if you are part of the Disabled Student Services in Higher Education <DSSHE-L at LISTSERV.BUFFALO.EDU> list serve, then someone may have the book in Braille for purchase. Not sure if this will work, but it can't hurt to try.

The file from Accesstext will only be a pdf file. It does say that you can get the book from Vitalsource, but this will only be an electronic file, not a braille file. You may be able to request it from Bookshare in Braille, but they currently do not have the files in their library so it may take a while for them to get the files to convert to Braille.

Kendra,

It looks like this book is produced by Pearson and they have a disability group that coordinates alternative media. I would email this group and ask your question or have your disability resource center do it Here is the email address: alternate.textbooks at pearsoned.com

Hello, Kendra.
If you work with the alternative media person at your college, they can order a copy of your textbook in braille from the repository. Talk to your Disabled Students department, and they should be able to connect you. He or she can also braille any notes or extra material you might obtain from your class (handouts, etc.) Good luck!
