Accessibility friends and colleagues. Please encourage your students (and/or former interns) to submit to the ASSETS'19 DC. Feel free to distribute the following CFP broadly:

Calling all PhD students working in accessibility + technology: we encourage you to submit to the ASSETS 2019 Doctoral Consortium (DC). The deadline is July 10. Participants will present and receive feedback on their in-progress dissertation work from leading experts in the field, meet and hang out with fellow students working in accessibility, present a research poster to the ASSETS’19 community, and attend the ASSETS’19 conference.

This year, we are excited to host the DC at Apple Research in Pittsburgh. There will be an evening event on Saturday, October 26th followed by a full-day DC workshop on Sunday, October 27th. The overarching goal of the DC is to encourage and prepare the next-generation of researchers dedicated to accessibility and assistive technology. We have applied for and expect to receive NSF (and other) funding to support travel, conference registration, and hotel expenses.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, abbreviated CV (two page max), and two-page research project summary by July 10 at 5PM PDT. In addition, your primary thesis advisor/supervisor should separately upload a letter of recommendation on official letterhead describing what the student should gain from and contribute to the consortium by July 15 at 5PM PDT.
