[BlindMath] Reading Nemeth and Literary braille in same doc using BNT

I'm confused about this question. Is the student reading a supplied braille
file as braille on a refreshable braille display?  Or is he entering braille
himself  which he wants to read as braille on the braille display?  If the
latter I don't see why the device would be changing the braille he enters.
It should just remain a brf file with whatever  ever he's typed.

Sorry if I'm not understanding.
