[BlindMath] Large html file

Hello Lucas,

Can you show us the command used to make the HTML. Depending on the engine used, there is a way to get the processing to separate each chapter or even section into a page of its own, with the necessary navigational links added top and bottom, or at least there is for the engine I use.

The size of the file being opened by the browser includes the images. The pure HTML is actually just plain text with the necessary mark up to provide the semantic and visual presentation. That means the text part of what you have is relatively small. The screen reader must then manage the (possibly massive number of) links and headings.

One quick and dirty hack I use is to go into the folder with the pile of image files and remove them. The browser then tries to open the image file, decides it can't and carries on without it. That cuts the overhead for the screen reader which is trying to manage the entire set of files. Note that by "remove" I mean take them to an entirely different folder so that I can get them back if I find out I need sighted assistance to tell me what a specific image is.

HTH
Jonathan

Subject: [BlindMath] Large html file

Hello all.
So I have finally managed to convert my LaTeX book into HTML with mathML and it is working quite great.

The issue now is the size of the file.
It takes forever to load and the navigation with both jaws and NVDA is almost impossible.
I tried splitting the file, but than jaws only opened the part of the file that I had splitter, which made the navigation on the book really hard.

Would anybody have a suggestion on what is the best way for me to access this html?

Thanks.

Lucas.
