I have ran pandoc on it to create more accessible html. You could try
something like that.

Hey there,
I wanted to note that I have downloaded several epub files from Bookshare.
There are still undescribed graphics, though the largest problem is that
often JAWS stops reading the content mysteriously, like the program just
locks up. This happens so frequently so as to make books in this format
close to unreadable for me. I have the Thorium program for reading epub
files. Has anyone else experienced this, and might there be a way around it?
Best,
Trevor

Hello:
I have found that w3schools has a number of very useful tutorials.
The site is: https://www.w3schools.com/
There are both paid and free tutorials. Not all the links on the home page
are accessible, but you can get into lots of the tutorials including Python.
I suggest going to www.ninite.com and getting Python installed on your PC.
As for Bookshare, downloading the epub format will provide the most
accessible books. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Robert

Ken, Sorry if you've done so already, but could you recommend any books on
Bookshare for Python?
I'm interested in teaching myself Python if I can. Unfortunately all the
coding texts I've seen on Bookshare had inaccessible code, though obviously
that doesn't mean all such books are like that -- it's unfortunately common
for technical literature.
Best,
Trevor

You might want to look for mentors. I have taught two people python and I
used to be very active on the original programming lists. They got to ugly
so now I I help people when they ask. Most of the time all it takes is help
getting started. Of course the problem is not always learning coding but I
have found in the two students I have had and the many I have worked with
over the years screen reader skills have been more problems than learning
coding. If you can't dig through the web pages of information you can't
learn to code.
I will also point out if it only took reading a book for your son there are
at least 100 python books on Bookshare that are very good.

My son is interested in coding and has learned some Python here and there.
It is very user friendly with a screenreader. We have not had much luck in
finding online programs to use though for tutorials and local camps are
completely inaccessible.
