[BlindMath] JAWS, maths Braille on webpages, and status cells

Hi all,

Just a quick tip in case anyone isn't aware of the following. I've spent too long trying to work out why mathematical content doesn't render in Nemeth Braille on webpages, as described by Freedom Scientific at the following URL:
https://www.freedomscientific.com/training/teachers/accessing-math-content-with-jaws-and-fusion/
I could read the Nemeth code after pressing enter to activate the equation viewer, but the mathematical content would not show in Braille at all without doing so, I was just presented with the word 'math' on my Braille display. It turns out that this was because I had status cells disabled on my Braille display. In order to see the mathematical content immediately, it seems you need to enable status cells in the JAWS Braille settings. If, like me, you don't make use of the status cells, this is somewhat annoying. I guess the mathematical content and status cells must somehow be linked. I plan to ask Freedom Scientific about this, perhaps there is a reason of which I'm not aware, otherwise it would be nice to get rid of this behaviour.

HTH,
Robin
