[BlindMath] Weird Math Behavior in MS Word

Hello everyone,

 

I encountered an interesting error with math and MS Word.

 

On a computer using NVDA with Mathcat and Office 2010, any math entered
through the equation editor is not read properly, which is very strange.
Additionally, any Math ML copied from an HTML document and pasted into MS
Word does not read properly; but the Math ML in the HTML reads fine.

 

Surprisingly, JAWS 2022 does not read the math in the MS Word document
either.

 

On another computer with office 2019, NVDA and Mathcat, the issue does not
exist. A third computer, also with Office 2019, NVDA and Mathcat, the issue
of Mathcat not reading the math persists.

I tried to rule out the issue as an Office version problem, but why weren't
the 2 computers with Office 2019 consistant?

 

I apologize for the confusion and long email. I know that word is not the
most common way to read mathematical documents but this is just common where
I'm from.
