*New Braille Games and Literacy Shop Open*

Steven and Sarah Erb are sighted parents of a 10 year old who is blind from
birth. They learned the braille code alongside their child so they could
adapt their library of children’s books. While participating within the
blind community and their child’s education, they noticed a lack of
play-based braille materials and games that use size and spacing of braille
that meets BANA’s standards.

In 2023, they started Unicorn Soda Design Studios to create durable braille
manipulatives and tactile learning aids in order to make them available for
other families to learn braille alongside their child and play games
together, for schools to purchase for their students, and for any
individual of any age and level of vision to learn and play with braille.

They have employed their 10 year old to help in assembly, quality control,
and her favorite, beta testing products. As promoters of braille literacy,
Unicorn Sofa Design supports that it is possible for every child in the
U.S. to experience an inclusive education that facilitates not only
literacy, but also self-sufficiency and independent living skills by
knowing how to use the tools and resources available to them.

Here’s an invitation to you, from Unicorn Soda Design’s and production team:

Feel free to peruse the items on our website
<http://UnicornSodaDesignStudio.com>, give input, and ask questions if you
have them.

Additionally, let us know if there are products you do not see available in
our shop that you’d like us to create that would be helpful for the blind
community.

The products we are currently developing will be available in our shop by
mid-September.
These products are:
Magnetic chess, Checkers, and Backgammon

Thank you for sharing the love of braille!

Sincerely,

Steven & Sarah Erb
