[BlindMath] Low learning Curve Math Program

Hi Kahmile,
I'm not sure what operating system and/or screen reader you're using, but if
you use JAWS with Windows, you might try the Freedom Scientific Braille Math
Editor, which allows you to write your equations in Nemeth. The equations
are then formatted as if they had been written with the Word Equation
Editor. I unfortunately don't know much about MacOS, but I have described
the Braille Math Editor in more detail in case you are using Windows.
To open the Braille Math Editor, you can do Insert + Space, Plus on your
QWERTY keyboard, or a dots 2-4-6-7 chord on your braille display. You can
then type one line of your work in Nemeth and press Enter. If you are in
Word, then the equation will immediately be inserted into the document. If
you are not in Word, the equation will be copied to your clipboard (I
Believe in LaTeX). However, note that the Braille Math Editor still does not
do well with some notations, such as limit and sigma notation. It'll produce
something that looks similar to what you want, but not exactly right.
Consequently, I would still say that using LaTeX with the MathType add on
with Word is the gold standard when it comes to formatting, but the Braille
Math Editor does most things that I need it to do as an applied math major.
If you want to see it in action, check out the below video, which
demonstrates both the JAWS Math Viewer and the Braille Math Editor.

Hope this helps, and let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Regards,
Campbell Rutherford

Hello All,

Has anyone had success using the Accessible Equation
Editor(https://www.lakepinesbraille.com/aee/) or the MathType add on for
Microsoft word?

I am having trouble getting either of these options to work for braille
compatible math that also outputs good visual formatting (all without having
to learn another syntax such as Latex).

If anyone has had success and could spare 20 minutes to get me started, I
would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,
Kahmile
